The real sheepskin gilet – a Colenimo classic since 2019. Made by the same factory in North London for over six years, these shearling waistcoats are made from buttery-soft sheepskin that gets better with each wear. Perfect as a top layer during spring and autumn and as a warm insulating mid-layer in the winter months.

Colenimo’s leather items are made using hides that are by-products of the food industry, where the primary focus is food, and the leather is valued for its secondary purpose.

OVERSEAS TAX / IMPORT FEES

Orders delivered outside the UK are not charged UK VAT (20%). However, local import duties, taxes, or handling fees may apply once the parcel reaches your country.

RETURNS

We accept returns on online orders within 14 days of delivery.

Please contact us before returning an item. Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.

Items must be unused, in their original condition, and returned with proof of purchase (your order number is sufficient).

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Items that are worn, damaged, or returned after 14 days are not eligible for a refund.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method once the return has been received and inspected.

Leather basket buttons, Made in Japan

Sometimes known as “football buttons”, our traditional leather basket buttons are constructed from 100% leather and made in Japan.

Each button is woven from narrow leather strips around a solid core, creating a distinctive textured surface and subtle tonal variation. They are often used on outerwear and knitwear, where their depth and structure complement heavier cloths. Traditionally favoured on coats for their resilience and grip, they perform well against thicker fabrics and repeated fastening.

Our sheepskin pieces are produced in the same small North London workshop we have worked with for over ten years.

The workshop is run by a small team of highly skilled craftsmen, many of whom have decades of experience in leather and shearling construction. Each piece is hand-cut and assembled on site, with careful attention to structure and finish.

All leathers used in our garments are a by-product of the food industry, where the primary value lies in food production and the skins would otherwise go to waste.
