Waxed Cotton, woven in Scotland

Waxed Cotton, woven in Scotland

Our waxed cotton fabrics are produced in Dundee at a specialist Scottish mill with a long history in waterproof cloth.

Woven from tightly constructed cotton and finished with a wax coating applied in-house, the fabric is developed under close control from weaving through to final treatment. The waxing process gives the cloth its distinctive handle and subtle surface character, while providing reliable water resistance without sacrificing breathability. Over time, the fabric softens and develops depth through wear.

Corduroy, woven in Lancashire

Corduroy, woven in Lancashire

Our corduroy fabrics are woven inLancashire at a long-established British mill with a history in cotton weaving stretching back more than a century.

The cloth is constructed with raised ribs, or “wales”, created by cutting and brushing the woven surface. This process gives corduroy its distinctive texture, durability and warmth. Historically used in workwear and military garments for its resilience and insulating qualities, the fabric is valued for its structure and reliability.

Leather basket buttons, Made in Japan

Leather basket buttons, Made in Japan

Sometimes known as “football buttons”, our traditional leather basket buttons are constructed from 100% leather and made in Japan.

Each button is woven from narrow leather strips around a solid core, creating a distinctive textured surface and subtle tonal variation. They are often used on outerwear and knitwear, where their depth and structure complement heavier cloths. Traditionally favoured on coats for their resilience and grip, they perform well against thicker fabrics and repeated fastening.

Made at the North London factory

Made at the North London factory

The majority of our garments are made in the same North London factory we have worked with for over a decade. Over that time we have built a close working relationship grounded in trust, mutual respect and shared standards.

The factory is a short journey from us, and we are there regularly – reviewing samples, discussing details and refining patterns. Design and production are not separate stages; they are part of a single continuous process. From fabric sourcing and initial ideas through to pattern cutting, sewing and finishing, we are involved throughout.

We are proud of the garments that leave the workshop and of the skilled people who bring them to life.
