Leather basket buttons, Made in Japan

Leather basket buttons, Made in Japan

Sometimes known as “football buttons”, our traditional leather basket buttons are constructed from 100% leather and made in Japan.

Each button is woven from narrow leather strips around a solid core, creating a distinctive textured surface and subtle tonal variation. They are often used on outerwear and knitwear, where their depth and structure complement heavier cloths. Traditionally favoured on coats for their resilience and grip, they perform well against thicker fabrics and repeated fastening.

Corozo nut buttons, made in England

Corozo nut buttons, made in England

Our corozo buttons are made from the tagua nut, often referred to as “vegetable ivory”. Harvested from palm trees in South America, corozo is a natural, renewable material prized for its density and fine grain.

Strong, durable and resistant to everyday wear, corozo takes dye exceptionally well, allowing for rich, consistent colour. We use these buttons across jackets, shirts, waistcoats, linen tops and coats, where their subtle lustre and strength provide a dependable, natural finish.

North London Factory

North London Factory

The majority of our garments are made in the same North London factory we have worked with for over a decade. Over that time we have built a close working relationship grounded in trust, mutual respect and shared standards.

The factory is a short journey from us, and we are there regularly – reviewing samples, discussing details and refining patterns. Design and production are not separate stages; they are part of a single continuous process. From fabric sourcing and initial ideas through to pattern cutting, sewing and finishing, we are involved throughout.

We are proud of the garments that leave the workshop and of the skilled people who bring them to life.
